1. Rippleside Park Adventure Playground

We start off the list at Rippleside Park. In 2001 the community built the Rippleside Park Adventure Playground in just six days! The adventure playground comes with all the bells and whistles you’d want to have fun with. The wooden structure intertwines walkways, steps, ladders, and scrambling walls. There’s also a fireman’s pole, monkey bars, and much much more. If you have young kids, there’s a separate play area for them to play safely. Kitted out with a cubby area, rubber bridge, and swings with safety chains.

Set just behind Rippleside beach, this park is in a perfect location for a full day of activities. The park itself has picnic facilities, so you can BBQ while looking at the stunning views over Corio Bay. A top-notch park for the whole family.

2. Geelong Play Space

If you’re in Eastern Park, check out Geelong Play Space. A highlight of this adventure park is the fencing surrounding the space, so your kids have the freedom to run their little hearts out. The park is specifically designed to facilitate children of all abilities. There’s a liberty swing that accommodates a wheelchair. Make sure you contact Rural Access before visiting because you’ll need a key to unlock the liberty swing (Contact number: 03 5272 5272)

Designed by Red Box Design Group, there are multiple levels with ramps so kids can explore and learn. The landscape is spectacular, covering 3000 squares and over 300 plants. Children can learn about nature and engage in interactive art elements.

Geelong Play Space includes accessible parking and toilets with BBQs and picnic tables for a quick snack break. If you are looking for an accessible park, Geelong Play Space is that and so much more.

3. Discovery Parks

Are you wanting to take a break away from the city? Discovery Parks is in the heart of Geelong, but you’ll feel a million miles away. Owned by the largest operator of lifestyle parks in Australia, guests are sure to have an outstanding stay in the outback. Discovery Parks offers easy access to several beaches and is only a 20-minute walk to Balyang Sanctuary.

Each cozy cabin has kitchen facilities, a seating area, and even free wifi. There is an abundance of adventurous activities like an indoor and outdoor pool and playground for the kids. A bonus; furry friends are more than welcome so that guests can bring along the whole family.

4. Jetty Road Adventure Playground

Jetty Road Adventure Playground is old-style, but the equipment is just as good. It’ll take you back to the days you played in parks. This park is all about the slides. There’s a spiral, curved, and metal slide to choose from. Children can climb walls and ride horses and frog springers in the playground.

If you’re in and around Clifton Springs, give this park a visit. Close to the playground are tennis facilities and a skate park, so there’s a wide range of activities. Be sure to bring along an umbrella and sunscreen as the tables and BBQs are unshaded.

5. Bellarine Adventure Golf

If you’re a fan of mini-golf or simply having a fun time, Bellarine Adventure Golf is the perfect place! This last park on our list is serious fun for all ages. Here you’ll find two 18-hole courses surrounded by natural gardens and the sound of running water. The course is entertaining and challenging with multi-level greens, tricky sand traps, and a windmill. What mini-golf course would be complete without a windmill? If you’ve got the skills or feel lucky, give a game a go at Bellarine Adventure Golf.

The courses have loads of shaded areas for hot summer days. There’s also a coffee shop serving Capra, a local Geelong roaster, so you can take in the scenery while the kids have fun on the playground. Depending on whether you play one or both courses, there is a small fee, but children receive a discount. This park is a must-visit for all ages.
